Maryland Farm to Table Day

American National Properties, Inc. announced today the “Maryland Farm to Table Day” to be held at the country estate located at 10240 Fingerboard Road in Ijamsville, MD on Sunday September 30, 2012 from 1:30 PM – 3:30PM.
 
The featured event will include a cook-off competition using farm fresh foods among the Best Chefs in Maryland. The award “Top Farm to Table Chef 2012” will include bragging rights for a year and a full page profile in a local magazine. The contest will be judged by well-known food critics from the Washington/Baltimore area.   We encourage and challenge all local restaurants and their featured Chefs to enter the Top Farm to Table Chef contest as well as profile their dishes for the event. The site is available to restaurant participants free of charge - they simply provide their own booth, signage, materials and featured items.  To enter or participate, please register by Saturday September 15, 2012 by email at [email protected] or call Dennis Kelly at 301-346-0200.
 
As part of the event, a ticketed  luncheon will be offered to benefit the CrossRoads Freedom Center, a Frederick County non-profit dedicated to helping men and women recover from personal challenges in their lives. The CR Freedom Center mission is to Recover, Equip, and Restore men and women to our communities as productive citizens.  Tickets are $50.
 
Additionally, the event will include a Chef Raffle for a $25 Tax deductible contribution to CrossRoads Freedom Center. The winner of the Chef Raffle will receive an eight-course dinner for 20 friends and family for Thanksgiving 2012, prepared by classically trained Chef Craig Jordan.
 
On the grounds of the estate a Farmers Market will include booths featuring farm fresh produce from local farm markets, local growers, caterers, bakers, and artisans  from both Montgomery and Frederick County.  There will also be a free wine tasting from several of Maryland’s best Wineries.
